Pair of Arne Vodder FD-164 Reclining Lounge Chairs in Teak and Plaid Wool
A well preserved pair of stunning and unique reclining lounge chairs in teak and plaid wool designed by the prolific Arne Vodder for France and Son, imported by John Stuart Inc, circa 1960. As with the best of Danish seating design, no ergonomic consideration is left unaddressed, this experimental frame features three distinct seating positions ranging from a typical lounging angle, to a nearly flat, chaise lounge-style recline. Both examples retain the original manufacturer's label, the retailer label, as well as the France and Son 'made in Denmark' export stamp.
