Hans Olsen TV 161 Seating System in Teak & Cane; Denmark, 1950s
A progressive, Japanese design-inspired, modular seating system by the prolific Danish furniture designer Hans Olsen. Excellent sculpted teak and oak construction, lovely craftsmanship, gorgeous pagination and tone to the wood— this is a great example of this unique design. The legs of the chairs and tables fit snuggly in the grooves between the bench's slats, allowing them to be set firmly in a variety of positions: forward or backward facing, as well directly on the floor. When the chairs are set up on the floor, cushions can cover the bench's slats, doubling the seating options. Chair or bench cushions can be fabricated at client's request.
