Country Bench in Reclaimed White Pine and Ash by Justinian Montaperto, 2017
A rustic bench in Reclaimed White Pine and Ash inspired by the simple yet graceful furniture of the early American settlers. This type of archaic construction; tapering, chamfered splayed legs wedged through a slab top, was very common within provincial regions in 17th and 18th century America, and indeed dates back several thousand years as a primitive construction archetype of tables and benches alike.
This Reclaimed White Pine top was milled from an old construction beam and contains knots, imperfections and staining from the nails buried within for several decades. Ash is domestic and has been sustainably sourced.
